Northern Pacific (NP) Avenue is becoming an increasingly important corridor in downtown Fargo.
Exciting projects are underway along NP Avenue and University, creating vibrant spaces in this part of the downtown neighborhood. The City of Fargo’s addition of a raised bike lane along NP Avenue makes this location a public realm that is safer for cars, bikers, and pedestrians.
Prairie Roots Food Co-Op will be opening a grocery store at this location early 2017. Prairie Roots Food Co-Op is dedicated to building a healthy community by providing access to natural, organic, and locally produced food. Their new space will include a deli with cafe seating.
The building at 1213 Northern Pacific Avenue was built by Branick, a vulcanizing company, in 1950-51. Branick occupied the space until the 1970s.
Later, Mathison’s Printing began occupying the building in the early 1970s. As of October 2015, Mathison’s Printing moved to their new Fargo location at 3911 37th Avenue South.
