Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre

333 4th St S, Fargo, ND 58103, Fargo, ND

Downtown Fargo and the groups who choose to reside here offer the opportunity to create art, community, opportunity and experiences.

The Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre is an integral part of the community’s creative fabric, and supporting the arts is vital to a healthy, vibrant community.

In 2011, Doug Burgum, on behalf of the Katherine Kilbourne Burgum Charitable Lead Unitrust, presented the organization with $400,000. It was the biggest gift ever received by the 69-year-old organization. The gift helped facilitate the enclosing of the once open-air gazebo. The project gave the theatre a new facade and created more space for pre-show gatherings. In addition, a new wheelchair ramp was constructed and the south driveway was moved.

Burgum credits his late mother, Katherine Kilbourne Burgum, a former FMCT member, as “a role model in terms of giving back to the community…she really believed art was an important component in human development.”

Unfortunately, significant structural issues found in the original theater, and it was deemed unsafe and demolished in late 2022.

We are thrilled to be partnering, again, with the Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre, in plans to build a new theater home on NP Avenue. The project has been approved by the City of Fargo and will break ground in early 2023. We are currently seeking investment into this project, as well as RiverHouse, through the Great Plains Opportunity Zone Fund II.
