7 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Downtown Fargo

7 Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Downtown Fargo

| By Mari Hall |

For the Casual Couple

Are you the kind of couple that likes to keep things low-key and un-romance-y? Plan your Valentine’s date around new experiences together. Head somewhere new to you both, like the re-imagined Teddy’s Eatery and Parlor or The Troll Lounge at Sons of Norway.

For the Outdoorsy Types

Coming to Fargo’s urban center to do outdoorsy activities might seem counterintuitive but trust us on this. You could have an axe-ellent time at Roughcut Social or twirl the night away with ice skating at Broadway Square.

For the Anti-Planners

Jasper Hotel has this one covered with their Retro Hearts Valentine’s Day event. For just $10 a person, your date night will be all planned out. Head to the Rosewild lounge at the Jasper Hotel for beverages at 5:30, enjoy the stylings of a vinyl DJ, sip on Valentine-themed cocktails, and then head to the Fargo Theatre at 7:30 for a showing of the 1987 classic film Moonstruck at 7:30.

For the Early Bedtimers

Let’s face it. Valentine’s Day is on a Monday. Quality time without being up past your bedtime might mean somewhere with lightning-fast service, like Würst Bier Hall or Vinyl Taco.

For the Intellectual Pair

Start the night out with a trip to the Plains Art Museum to take in their latest show, maybe even sign up for a future art class, then head to 46 North Pints & Provisions for a cozy yet elevated vibe.

For the Nerdy Love

Does romance mean besting each other in the virtual realm? Replay Games has you covered. And if you want to pair a beer with that, head to Pixeled Brewing Co. to play your heart out on some classic arcade games.

For the Swanky All-Outers

Chances are you’ve already locked in your Valentine’s Day plans, but in case the holiday of romance snuck up on you and your significant other, check with Mezzaluna and Rosewild about reservations STAT, then round out the night with a nightcap at 701 Eateries’ Prairie Kitchen.
