NP Parking Garage Opens, Expanding Access and Supporting Growth in Downtown Fargo
More parking options have officially arrived for those who live, work and visit downtown Fargo. The new NP Parking Garage at 602 NP Avenue is now open, marking an exciting milestone for the neighborhood and the continued evolution of the downtown core.
City leaders, Kilbourne Group, the Downtown Community Partnership and project collaborators gathered on Friday, Nov. 14 to celebrate the opening and recognize the vision that brought the project to life.
The NP Parking Garage adds 480 parking spaces, making it the largest city-owned parking facility in downtown Fargo. Parking is free after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. During business hours, hourly rates apply, and monthly reserved parking is available for $115.
Mayor Tim Mahoney shared that the project represents years of collaboration and a shared commitment to enhancing access to the city center. He noted that expanding parking options will help make downtown even more welcoming for residents and visitors.
Complementing the new garage is a mixed-use development surrounding the structure, which will introduce the future home of Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre, 168 new apartments and 2,440 square feet of commercial space. This addition reflects Kilbourne Group’s focus on creating vibrant, walkable districts that blend living, arts and business opportunities.
“What was once a surface parking lot will now become a cornerstone of economic growth for Downtown Fargo,” said Sami Harwood, Director of Marketing for Kilbourne Group. “This project highlights how our downtown continues to evolve in ways that strengthen community and create new possibilities.”
Construction on the surrounding development remains on track for completion in 2026.
